The vegetation map was an expansion of the Murdy-Carter report and is a cooperative effort between James Johnson, the campus landscape architect and John Wegner, ENVS. The vegetation map has served as a learning tool in our investigation of how ecological communities are defined and delineated. The work we have done through Ecology of Emory also serves a very practical purpose for the university as a ground-truthing of the vegetation map
